How iSquare use complex product options for customizing Apple products

We spoke to Pantelis Assimakopoulos from iSquare.gr. They are Value-added Distributors for Apple in Greece and Cyprus with two online stores – one per country.

We asked them about how they’re using WooCommerce Product Add-Ons Ultimate plugin to allow their users to customize Apple products.

Can you give us some background on your products and how you are using Add-Ons Ultimate?

We sell Apple products and we are using the plugin mainly on Macs. Our products are called BTOs (built-to-order) and ordering can contain complex relationships between components with complex requirements.

So, they are not just add-ons. For example, upgrading the CPU might call for an automatic upgrade in memory or a heftier power adapter cannot be displayed unless either an upgrade in memory or SSD has been selected.

Of all add-ons plugins we checked, this one was the most suitable for the task.

Until now, the Product Add-Ons Ultimate is used to meet the needs for the Apple products add-ons and BTOs.

The plugin is used entirely on the UI. It provides all possible options for customization and conditional logic. It also lets the user customize the CSS classes for the display of the elements used.

The plugin conveys a confidence that things you might need are already thought of and settled by the developer. Besides, the developer always answers to development requests. Any problem that may arise will be given a workaround or a code upgrade.

What features do you find most useful in the plugin?

The most useful feature is the conditional logic. The plugin allows the display of elements on an if-then basis, which is extremely helpful function.

It handles variable products with multiple variations excellently.

What are the next steps for your business?

We are preparing upgrades to all out websites, B2Bs and public. They are all in WordPress and expert plugins are crucial to such undertakings.
